2022 NFL Scouting Combine Day 3 Results: Georgia Steals Show, Edge Rushers Show Depth

Jordan Davis ran 4.78 seconds 40-yard dash 341 pounds

Defense took to the field on Saturday, the third day of the NFL Scouting Combine. The exploring occasion closes Sunday with guarded backs and extraordinary groups. Defensive lines and linebackers survive every bit of publicity until it’s hard to follow those possibilities.

Georgia show stolen
Defensive tackle Jordan Davis stole the show at the start of a 40-yard dash of 4.78 seconds. He followed it with a 10-foot-3-inch broad jump and a 32-inch vertical jump; Both were the best combine performers of all time at 340-plus pounds. His teammate, Devante Watt, was also great. The second team of defensive linemen took to the field and the buzz continued. Edge Rasha’s Travan Walker 4.51 seconds 40-yard dash clock. He showed a snug frame working through the bag and great maneuverability. If that’s not enough, Florida State’s Jermaine Johnson II, a Georgia transferee, also tested very well and probably cemented her claim as a first-round pick.

Walker’s combination of performance and size probably confirms that he will not make it into the top 10 of the 2022 NFL Draft. The Giants and Jets stand as two teams that can be in the mix.

Georgia linebackers continue to improve the Bulldogs program with strong performances from Channing Tyndale and Koe Walker. Nakobe Dean did not compete.

The depth of the edge rash in the full display
For teams that have missed Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson, Oregon’s Cavan Thebodox and now Walker, Edge Rasher will have no shortage of team options. A total of eight chances ran below the 4.6-second 40-yard dash, including Walker and Thebodox. Ole Miss’ Sam Williams, Minneapolis Boy Maffe, Michigan’s David Ozabo and many more match the profiles of influential NFL players.
